About us


Talentia promotes and protects the professional and wage interests of over 24 000 highly educated professionals in the field of social work, social welfare and early childhood education. Talentia is affiliated to Akava, the Confederation of Unions for Academic Professionals.

Our objectives

The aim of Talentia’s activities is to ensure that its members feel well at work, are paid fair wages and can exercise their profession in accordance with their professional ethics. Talentia’s activities are guided by a strategy approved by the Council and prepared by the Board, which consists of Talentia’s members. In the current strategy period 2017–2023 Talentia pursues the following goals:

  • better pay for its members
  • working conditions that promote well-being at work
  • a strong labour status within changing social and health care service structures
  • active and competent regional associative activity and advocacy work
  • growth of the organisation and a strong position in negotiations on the employment conditions of Talentia’s members.

Member associations

Talentia has 20 local member associations around Finland, 11 professional associations operating across Finland and a student association. Find the nearest and dearest to you and get involved!

International activities

Talentia represents the voice of its members and co operates also internationally through membership in International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW), The Trade Union Solidarity Centre of Finland (SASK) and Akava - The Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland.
