Joint World Conference on Social Work and Social Development held in Hong Kong 2010
The conference will be held from 10th to 15th June 2010 in Hong Kong. Three international and eight local hosts will jointly organize the conference. This first ever consortium offers a unique platform for more than 2,000 professionals, academics, practitioners, social planners, policy makers and advocates from East and West to meet, exchange, and develop an action agenda for social work and social development in the next decade.
There will be a particular focus on recent disasters in different regions in Asia and how social organizations have intervened to resume development. Participants will be able to share, experience and develop innovative ideas in social work and social development.
The Conference will also provide opportunities to discuss issues which the social work and social welfare sectors face everyday, and to ensure a closer link between evidence-based practice and policy objectives and social development goals. They are:
