Professional social work
Professional social welfare work consists of increasing the participation rate of people and communities, producing services, preventing problems, and promoting the interests of the disadvantaged.Social welfare professionals work in expert positions in e.g. social service offices, social work with the aged, children's homes, day-care centres, schools, health care, service units for the mentally handicapped, family counselling clinics, care for substance abusers, and rehabilitative work, and they work in various projects and organisations.
