Professional social work

Professional social welfare work consists of increasing the participation rate of people and communities, producing services, preventing problems, and promoting the interests of the disadvantaged.

Social welfare professionals work in expert positions in e.g. social service offices, social work with the aged, children's homes, day-care centres, schools, health care, service units for the mentally handicapped, family counselling clinics, care for substance abusers, and rehabilitative work, and they work in various projects and organisations.

Talentia's work counsellor register

Talentia maintains a public work counsellor register and gives out their contact information. Those who have completed work counsellor training approved by Talentia and fulfil the criteria defined by Talentia may enrol in the register.
