Who can join Talentia?

You can join Talentia if you have obtained a social work degree at a university, a social services degree at a polytechnic, a vocational college diploma in social services, or if you are a higher education student of social work or social services.

Qualifications held by members of Talentia include the following:

  • Master's degree (Master of Social Sciences, including or complemented by advanced studies in social work),
  • polytechnic degree in social services (Bachelor of Social Services, Bachelor of Social Services and Health Care),
  • vocational college diploma in social services (social educator, social instructor, instructor for the mentally handicapped),
  • kindergarten teacher degree when the member is working as a family day-care supervisor.

Conveniently through the web service
The quickest and simplest way to join is to use Talentia's web service (eAsiointi, service is in Finnish) and fill in the application form, which will then be processed without delay. In order to use the web service you need an on-line banking code.

Which member association should I join?

When you join Talentia, you automatically join one of its 20 regional associations, depending on where you work or study. Those who are not working make the choice on the basis of their place of residence. When you join Talentia, you can also join one or several of Talentia's national professional associations according to your orientation or preference. The membership of member associations is covered by Talentia's membership fee.

Which association should a student joint?

Students always join Talentia's student association TaSO and the regional association of their place of study. Students can also join one or several of Talentia's national professional associations according to their orientation or preference.
