Committee on professional ethics

At Talentia, professional ethics is deliberated by the Committee on Professional Ethics, which is appointed by the Council.

The tasks of the Committee on Professional Ethics are:

  • to draft ethical guidelines for social welfare professionals and to ensure that Talentia's Code of Ethics fulfils general ethical standards and pertains to current ethical questions that are relevant to social welfare professions;
  • to take a stand on ethical questions relating to the exercise of the professions of social worker, social instructor, and social educator;
  • to issue statements on the ethicality of the actions of an individual professional and, if ethical principles have been breached, to take necessary action in accordance with separate guidelines on the handling of matters concerning individuals;
  • on the basis of its observations, to present to the Board and the Council proposals for action concerning ethical questions relevant to the professions represented by the Union.
